Terms of Use

Last updated September 6, 2026
The short version. This is a free fan-run team website. Read it, share it, enjoy it. Don’t copy our content wholesale, don’t abuse the portal, and understand that we provide it as-is. Portal access is a privilege of team membership and can be withdrawn.

1. Who these terms are between

These terms are an agreement between you and Eclipse Competition (“Eclipse”, “we”, “us”), an independent sim-racing team operated from Indiana, United States. They apply to the website at eclipsecompetition.com (the “Site”) and the members-only driver portal (the “Portal”). By using the Site or signing in to the Portal you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use them.

2. What Eclipse is — and isn’t

Eclipse Competition is a team of individuals who race together on the iRacing simulation platform. We are not a registered company, a business, or a licensed motorsport organisation. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by iRacing.com Motorsport Simulations, LLC, IMSA, INDYCAR, NASCAR, the ACO, any circuit, series, or vehicle manufacturer whose names appear on the Site. Those names are used only to describe the virtual events and cars we race in.

3. Using the Site

You may view the Site and share links to it freely. You may not scrape it in bulk, attempt to interfere with it, or use it for anything unlawful.

4. Using the Portal

5. Content you add

You keep ownership of anything you enter in the Portal (signups, availability, notes about yourself). You give us permission to store it, show it to other members, and post it to the Eclipse Discord server as described in the Privacy Policy, for as long as needed to run the team.

6. Our content

The Eclipse Competition name, logos, livery designs, spotter guides, photos, videos and text on the Site belong to Eclipse or the people who made them, and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may share links and short excerpts with credit. Please ask before reproducing images, liveries or the spotter guide elsewhere.

Screenshots and video from iRacing are © iRacing.com Motorsport Simulations, LLC and are used under iRacing’s rules for community content. Sponsor and partner logos belong to their owners and appear with their permission; nothing on the Site grants you any right to use them.

If you believe something on the Site infringes your rights, send with a link to the material and a description of the problem, and we will look at it promptly.

7. Third-party links and services

The Site links to Discord, Instagram, iRacing, Trading Paints, Garage 61, iRacePlan, and our partners’ websites. We don’t control those services and aren’t responsible for their content or how they handle your data. The Portal depends on Discord and Supabase to work; if they are down, so is the Portal.

8. Results, statistics and claims

Race results, championships and statistics on the Site refer to virtual events on the iRacing platform unless a biography specifically says “in the real world”. We try to keep them accurate but they are maintained by volunteers and can lag or contain mistakes. Tell us if you spot one.

9. No warranty

The Site and Portal are provided “as is” and “as available”, free of charge, by volunteers. We make no promises that they will be available, error-free, secure, or fit for any particular purpose, and we may change, suspend or shut them down at any time.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Eclipse and its owners, staff and members are not liable to you for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Site or Portal. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to US $100. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, or any liability that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you, and nothing here affects the statutory rights of consumers in the UK or EU.

11. Ending access

You can stop using the Site at any time, and can revoke the Portal’s access to your Discord account from Discord’s User Settings → Authorized Apps. We can end or suspend your Portal access at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have broken these terms or the team’s rules, or for any other reason connected with running the team. Sections 5, 6, 9, 10 and 12 survive.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana and the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Indiana, and you consent to their jurisdiction — except that, if you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws and courts of your home country.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version; material changes to Portal terms will also be announced in the Eclipse Discord server. Continued use after a change means the updated terms apply.
